Breast Lift Plastic Surgery with Implants
Breast lift and breast implants rank among the popular cosmetic surgery procedures in the US today. Women who are bothered by the appearance of heavily sagging breasts and nipples pointing downwards may require breast lift surgery. In some other cases, the skin elasticity of the breasts may be good, but the size of the breasts may be disproportionately smaller. This condition can be corrected with breast implant surgery.
When a woman suffers from skin laxity as well as smaller breasts, the plastic surgeon may recommend breast lift surgery with implants. This combined procedure will enhance the breast size, while making them firmer and perkier and raising them to a more youthful position. The position of nipples and areolas may also be moved to a higher, more natural level. Eminent plastic surgeon Dr. Brian J. Parker provides breast lift surgery with implants to patients in Las Vegas and surrounding communities.
When breast lift plastic surgery is performed in conjunction with breast implants, it can produce more comprehensive outcomes. The implants will stay firmly in their position with tighter and smoother skin, and in aesthetic terms the results will be more natural looking.
As a combined surgery, the procedure will require the patient to undergo general anesthesia only once. Pre-op preparation as well as post-op recovery will also take place just once. Costs of anesthesia, operating room, mammograms, medical tests, prescription medications, and surgical bra are also incurred only once.
Following the administering of general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, the cosmetic surgeon will begin the procedure by placing an incision in the pre-determined location. The surgeon will usually have a choice to place incisions below the breast crease, under the arm or around the bottom half of the areola. These incisions will keep the scarring inconspicuous. Dr. Parker receives patients from Las Vegas and other areas for this procedure.
Saline or silicone gel breast implants will be placed in the breast pocket that is created through the incision. Placement of the implants will be above the pectoral muscle or in front the muscle behind the breast tissue. To perform breast lift along with implant placement, the surgeon may use the existing incisions, or make an addition incision that goes vertically down the breast crease and then horizontally across the crease.
Through the incisions, the underlying breast tissue will be reshaped and raised to improve breast contour and firmness. Areolas along with nipples will also be repositioned to a more youthful level. Loose skin from the breasts will be excised, but sufficient skin will be left intact so that no rippling is caused later on the breast implants. If the areolas are oversized, the skin around their circumference may also be reduced.
Recovery in case of breast lift plastic surgery with implants will be similar to when either procedure is performed separately. Mild pain and soreness in the incision areas will be experienced in the first three to five days, which can be managed with pain medications. Most patients will be able to return to their workplace or resume regular activities in about two weeks.
