What to do before the surgery?<\/b><\/h2>\n

It is very essential to have a good talk about this surgery with your plastic surgeon to stay clear about the procedure, after-care and so on. Your surgeon will have a look at your family medical history and will also want to know if you have undergone any procedure that might have affected your breasts. So you need to be open about the matter to your cosmetic surgeon and prepare yourself for discussing any physical as well as emotional issues that you might have faced due to your big breasts. Other than that, you will also be asked to give up on smoking for a certain amount of time before as well as after the surgery. Brian J. There are certain things that you will need to keep ready at your home, before the surgery. These include gauze as well as clean clothes and towels, special creams or ointments recommended by the doctor, comfortable or loose clothes and a lot of ice. Also ask any of your close friends or relatives to drive you home after the surgery and stay with you for a day after the operation.<\/p>\n

How is the surgery done?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The surgery ideally takes anywhere between two to five hours. A cut will be made near your nipples down the breast from where excess fat will be removed. The tissues present there will also be removed and your nipple will be repositioned. Drainage tubes can also be used for taking out excess liquid after which your breasts will be stitched back and wrapped with a gauze.<\/p>\n

Post-surgery<\/b><\/h2>\n

You may be given a surgical bra to wear. After the surgery, you will be required to take rest at least for a week. Follow-up appointments will also be recommended after the plastic surgery for taking off stitches and bandages. Refrain from all types of strenuous physical activities, post surgery. You are likely to experience some pain in your breasts too, which is normal and nothing to worry about. You may be given painkillers. There are chances of feeling depressed after the surgery. This too is normal so feel free to talk to your surgeon about it.<\/p>\n
