No plucking, waxing, depilatory or bleaching
for 1 week prior to treatment. Please refrain
from the previously mentioned methods of hair
removal during the laser treatment process; these
methods will interfere with the laser treatment
and may result requiring more treatments to achieve
desired results. Shaving is permitted during laser
treatments.
Please remove make-up, deodorants, and lotions
in treatment area prior to treatment. Ladies:
If you are treating your bikini area please wear
white underwear, because the laser is attracted
to dark colors.
Shaving may not be required prior to your first
treatment. Please call for further instructions.
A $25.00 fee will be charged for unshaven areas
following your first treatment.
If you've started any antibiotics or any other
medications that may make you photo sensitive,
please let us know. We may have to reschedule
your appointment. Also notify the RN/Tech if there
has been any change in your health status (new
medications, heart condition etc).
Sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided
for 3 days pre and post treatment. If sun exposure
is unavoidable use a minimum SPF 30 SUNBLOCK (not
sunscreen).
For maximum desired results, multiple treatments
will be required at regular scheduled intervals.

The areas which are to be treated are shaven
to remove any length of hair which is exposed
past the skin.
Then a special cooling gel and special cold packs
are applied to the area. Several minutes are allowed
to pass to treat the skin.
The laser gives your technician precise control
over the natural exfoliation process as it gently
vaporizes the outer layer of sun-damaged or acne-scarred
skin to reveal the smooth, fresh skin underneath.
Lines are removed in a precise, rapid, bloodless
fashion, achieving excellent results. Laser skin
resurfacing can be performed with local anesthesia
if limited areas are treated, while full face
resurfacing is usually performed with the administration
of intravenous sedation by an anesthesiologist.
With this new technology, treatment can be tailored
to achieve our patients' expectations.

Generally, recovery time with laser skin resurfacing
is rapid and gentle.
During the first few days after your procedure,
your skin will weep, as new collagen is formed
to rebuild the skin from the bottom up.
Some crusting may develop as a new skin surface
is formed. We will prescribe ointment to keep
the treated areas moist, and in most cases, bandages
will be required during the first 48 hours. Your
new skin will have a reddish quality which fades
in a few weeks. This redness can be covered with
cosmetics until it completely disappears. Some
temporary swelling may occur around the eyes,
and there is some risk of pigmentation disturbance
with darker skin types.
The full effect of your treatment develops over
a few months following the procedure and can be
expected to last for several years. As with any
cosmetic procedure, the results can be expected
to fade over time, at which time the procedure
can be repeated
